Road Trip
My sister-in-law and I had a crazy idea to get our kids together before school started. That meant a 3-4 day road trip to get to Washington D.C.
Luke drove the first 2 days with us. He left us in St. Louis with my Nana and Papa Frank. I continued on with the kids to Virginia. Here are some favorite shots along our way to our destination.
Don’t mind the dust.
How long will the smiles last??
Snack time. Felt like gold when I found a healthy snack of cherries at one gas station.
Haired pulled up and feet on the back of my chair for the rest of the trip.
Papa Frank with his great grandkids. Doesn’t he look too young?? He is.
St. Louis had been having weeks of drought, so we brought some rain with us.
Tru was our dog. If you’ve followed my blog since the beginning you’ll remember her. Now she’s loving life on the acreage behind Nana’s house along with 3 others dogs.
Nana helping Lars through the wet grass. The stepping stone Miles made when he first visited Nana and Papa’s house in July 2007.
Doggie doors.
So comfy at the hotel the next night.
Yes, McDonald’s saved me for breakfast one morning.
Our first steps on the greens of Virginia.
Guess who was not home when we arrived at their door after 4 days on the road! They showed us a great time though, so we forgive them.
Their first night together. Miles with his cousins Brickman and Lincoln.

Go you!! I thought about driving across the country with my kids but it was too close to school starting and I have no idea who would've gone with me.
