Kinder Kid

He’s gone and become Mr. Independent Don’t Need Mom to Walk Me to My Class Kid.

Backpack he bought himself online. He even keyed in his own personalization. Favorite snacks for the first day.DSC_1767DSC_1760

Good bye kisses from Dad.

He’s in Miss Riker’s morning class, so he’s in school for 3 hours a day.

I had to assure him this was the only day I’d be taking his photo before school, so please smile…. please! He wasn’t really in the mood. He was too excited and just wanted to head to his campus.

I think he pulls off the khaki shorts and belt look very well.

Shoes and socks are a real problem for him. He’s grown up wearing Croc shoes or sandals and does not like his wide feet to be enclosed all day. I love these loafers and they suit him well because they give a lot in the width as he walks or runs.

Lars isn’t going to let Miles get away without teasing him first. Watch out!

Everyone of us loves our kisses.

He was not going to give me a kiss for the camera though.

His school is just a mile away, so I thought instead of fighting the first day of school traffic, we’d walk. It worked great except I didn’t bring enough water for the trek back with the three younger kids. It was nearly 100 degrees by the time we got home.

Gorgeous boys are ready for their first day! Miles, Ashton and Sam.

See Miles right in the middle of the picture? His buddy Ashton is two desks ahead of him.

He’s had a week of school under his belt as I’m posting this. He seems love it, but he has loads of questions about what we did while he was away, but then he doesn’t offer much information about what he did. I know he likes recess, P.E. and music and that the bathroom in his class ran out of soap on the first day. He’s had homework every night and really enjoys the one-on-one time to study. We sure are proud of our kinderkid!

Preschooler

We sent Masie off on her first day of preschool.DSC_1620

She’s attending Little Sparks preschool with Mrs. Gale on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. The same teacher Miles had last year. I am super excited for Masie to try out the classroom environment. She’s still a little young and a lot wild, but we know she’s smart enough. Hopefully she’ll thrive with the structure and enjoy learning and socializing.

Helicopter…

Miles was not happy to be sending off his little sister to school. His school doesn’t start till this coming Monday. Watch Lars in the next several photos. He totally wants in on the kissing action Masie is spreading around. He loves his kisses.

Masie hugging her big bro and then she even gave my leg a squeeze.

Lyla looking a little stunned at the thought of Masie leaving. Lyla was on edge all morning after Masie left. It’s probably the biggest adjustment for her not having her big sis around. She stuck extremely close to me and asked every few minutes, “Where Masie go?” I’ll have Lyla alone for one hour in the a.m. once Miles starts school since Lars is still taking a morning nap.

First thing Masie found in the classroom were the scissors. Any bets on whether she cut her hair the first day??
