We’re going on a roo hunt

We spotted our kangaroo with joey in her pouch one afternoon just as the rain stopped. The kids wanted to chase it around the property then up and down the roads behind the house. I set my camera down and joined in the fun.

Miles requested that I sing along as we chased.

We’re going on a Roo hunt. We’re going to catch a big one. What a beautiful day! We’re not scared.

Masie waved goodbye as the our Roo started to bound away.

Lyla cheered and clapped when she saw Roo jumping.

If you don’t already have it in your library, I highly recommend the book “W'e’re Going on a Bear Hunt.” We have the board book version that takes a family through grass, a river, mud, a forest, a snowstorm, and a cave in hunt for a bear as they sing along about not being scared.
