I stand corrected
This is not a wallaby. It’s a kangaroo! And she’s got a joey in her pouch!
My father-in-law set me straight.
I thought I’d share a little bit of the scenery around Luke’s parents’ home. I took my camera with me on my jog this morning. When you’ve only lived in Wyoming, Utah, and Arizona, the landscape on the Gold Coast is shocking with all its colors, sounds, and dead toads. On another jog around the neighborhood I saw 2 wild bush turkeys, ran beside 2seperate kangaroos, and saw numerous birds, bunnies and spiders. I’d love to see a koala, but I’ve been told not to get my hopes too high.
I haven’t seen nearly as many houses decorated for Christmas, but the ones that do decorate go all for it.
This is a kookaburra, I’m fairly certain.
Luke’s backyard
I love this unique Victorian house.
Rain or shine the kids love to feed the magpies.
I swear these are the last dead toads I’ll post. It’s crazy how many I see on the mile I travel around the house. Aussies (well my Aussie family) purposely aim to run them over. My father-in-law tells me that the cane toad is not native to Australia. It was introduced in the 1930s in hopes of ridding the cane fields of some pesky beetles. Since then the poisonous toad population has grown exponentially.

Alaska! How could I forget the summer we lived in Alaska?!? Remember the mama moose that chased us out of her nest when we nearly ran into her baby?
It's hard to remember since I'm not in any of these photos, but my husband moved to the USA for me ;)
