Friday at the Zoo

It's Friday, and it's in the 70's, so what do you do with a little boy?!? You have to head to the zoo, of course! We love the zoo for the open walk-ways, the trains, the tractors to play on, the water to run through - oh yeah, and the animals :) Miles had a blast with his cousins and his friend Caleb while I enjoyed getting some exercise chasing after them and socializing with some friends. Fabulous Friday!
I am noticing Luke's Aussie influence more in the way Miles is talking and phrasing his sentences (yes, he talks in sentences!). Some examples: Miles says, "ready, steady, go!" when most Americans say, "ready, set, go!" He says, "pardon me" instead of "excuse me." My favorite is "motorbike" instead of "motorcycle".When he says "car" or "water" the "r" is very soft and sounds more like "cah" or "watah". I love these subtle differences and the wonderful influence Luke has:)

I love the pictures! The zoo is so fun! I need to take the kids more often!
I love how you recognized the Aussie influence. I hadn't thought about that at all. :) The kids say "motorbike" as well. I never thought twice about it when Jaxon says it.
I also never thought of the R thing. Jaxon says "baby sistah, watah, etc" with the soft R. I mistook it for not pronouncing the R correctly, but now I think it is because he uses the soft R.

Anyway, glad you had fun and Miles sure is a cute boy!!

That's so funny! I love that he is developing an accent! And I'm way impressed that he's speaking in sentences! Julia sounds like she's speaking African dialect sometimes, but I don't know where she get's that from :)
We went to the zoo Thursday! It was really warm, though. We didn't make it to the tractors, but Julia really liked Sting Ray Bay. She got to feed them fish heads, and the best part was that she tried to eat one of them herself! What a wierdo, huh?

So jalous! It's so much fun when cousins around. We would love to do more things with you guys. and it's so funny to hear that miles has that cute little Aussie tone. Because Noel and Brickman has a Chinese accent when they speak English too.
