The shovel

We’ve discovered Lars’s weakness. He loves little sand shovels. He took hold of one on our vacation and did not want to let it go. I even let him sleep with it.

My poor little girl. I’ve included this photo just as proof that Masie was on the beach with us. “Mom I’m cold. I wanna go to sleep.” Was all we heard from her. It was a little chilly, but she was not well. What can you do though while on vacation? I think the ocean air was good for her, but she would have preferred laying on the couch watching a movie.

Who is having more fun? Daddy’s buddy or Daddy? There was a man sharing the beach with us that kept shouting at Luke in his Aussie shorts, “G’day mate! Putting some shrimp on the barbie? How are things down unda?” Funny at first then he continued to call out every few minutes. Not so cool.

Lars is thinking he might want to catch a bird and eat it. He decided it wasn’t worth losing his shovel over.

I can sit all day and all night long reading your blog, and seeing photos of your adorable kids.
What a great family vacation!

My boys haven't seen the ocean since my sister's wedding in CA 5 years ago. It's been too long.
