Pictures - a lot of them

It's been way too long since I've blogged, so my pictures are backlogged - sorry family and friends. So please scroll thru these (which are in no particular order, I'm embarrassed to admit) to see what we've been up to the last couple of weeks. Luke's mother arrived from AUS on August 7th and will be here thru the end of the month - yay! Luke's brother, Lars, and his wife, Caroline, and 2 year old son, Leif also visited for a week. Miles and Leif, had loads of fun... Miles is still asking "where's Leif?" every morning :(
Miles is diving!See his toes ? :)
My gorgeous niece, Jillian. I call her snuffleupagus... she has the longest eyelashes you'll ever see.

First Outing

We've been house-bound for the last couple weeks, and Miles and I have been going crazy! It's much too hot to be outside unless you're in the pool, and we can't take Masie in there with us. So, we finally ventured out... to the mall, of all places. Miles is cute as ever and asked to hold Masie in her cute outfit passed down from her cousin Noel and accessorized with her cute bracelet from my friend Lara.
Love them! Miles isn't sure what to do yet when Masie cries.
Usually he gets down on the floor and cries along with her...
or he gives her a kiss to make it better.

Masie really is breathing under there :) Miles is always lovin on her.

My 2 year old is jumping off the 3 foot wall into the swimming pool! He's only 2!! He is amazing! He jumps in around the 5 foot depth and pushes off the bottom of the pool then kicks back to the step. And this is Masie after her first bath. Her and my life are much easier since the cord has fallen off.

Posing... how is it that you can just watch a baby and every little move seems so amazing. She's beautiful.

I am so blessed.

MASIE LYNNE

She's here! And she's beautiful, healthy, and perfect! ...and we're home :)

Masie Lynne arrived July 11th at 8:37 a.m.
She tipped the scales at 5lbs 14.5oz and stretched to 17" longs.
We are so grateful for our new pink, cuddly miracle.

This is my favorite picture taken of her, so that's why I've listed it first.

It was taken in our home when Masie was 9 days old.

Luke and I were granted the opportunity to spend a lot of time in the hospital with Masie and her birth-mom. We are so grateful that Masie's birth-mom allowed us to get to know her and spend this time with her. It was an amazing experience that we look forward to sharing with Masie when she's older and ready.

Miles can not get enough of his little bundle of a sister.
This was taken while still in the hospital after Masie was given the ok to leave the bilirubin lights needed to correct her jaundice.

Kissy-kissy!

She's already hooked on the bink!

She has gorgeous blue-grey eyes (for now) and deep, dark brown hair.

No poking fun at my baby girl dressed in blue...

This is the snuggly blue outfit Miles came home from the hospital wearing, and I just had to have Masie's picture taken in it as well. As you can imagine we had to pour the 8lbs 8oz infant Miles into it, but it fits Masie just right. Thanks for the outfit Monica :)

Luke and I are so pleased to have the plural words "OUR KIDS" added to our vocabulary - the silly things that make us happy...

Back in a few weeks...

I figured I'd better leave one last post before we head to Utah tomorrow. I can hardly believe that we've only got a few days left until our baby girl arrives. We probably won't be home for a couple of weeks, so plan on viewing tons of photos once we're back with our new addition.
I'm hoping this will all be "real" to me when she finally arrives.
I've already shopped like crazy for her and have found it's a lot more work than buying for Miles. I've got to remember to get the bloomers that go with the leggings that match the bow...
Because I've got all brothers and a little boy, I have a lot to learn about the girly things.
I'm open to any advice you may want to share with me :)
Wish us luck and that our baby girl has a smooth transition into our home.
See you again soon!

Not seen on video

This is my attempt to take a picture of Miles from under his closed door...
Today I was testing out our new baby video monitor. I had the camera pointed at his crib with the monitor setup in my office when I attempted to put him down for a nap. I was having a blast watching him crawl in and out of bed and listen to him sing to himself.
I wasn't getting any work done.
His room got very quiet after nearly an hour, but I could tell he wasn't in his bed because he wasn't showing up on video.
Peeking under his door, I could see that he was finally fast asleep...

So, I tempted fate and snuck in his room to snap some pictures.

Love it!

Oregon

We spent an amazing week in Seaside, Oregon with my mom and brothers, Taylor, Hansan, and Dallan. All the locals were complaining about the chilly weather (temperature in the 40's to 50's), but we Arizonians were loving being out of the heat. Our resort stood over the boardwalk right on the beach with an amazing view of the ocean only 100 yards away. I took over 400 photos (not kidding), see more here. Miles refused to call it the beach and insisted that it was the "sand box" that he wanted to play in. Love it!

I really like this picture of Luke walking along the edge of the water.

No trip is complete without visiting the zoo with our little boy. The rhino was about the only animal he was interested in though and preferred to ride the train and play on the tractor.

Dallan and the other boys caught several starfish and tons of sand dollars.
My mom and brothers enjoying their vacation.
Piggyback ride from Uncle Taylor with the other boys trailing behind.
Run boys, run!
...still running :)

Miles says he's going to share his new rocks with his new "baby seester."
Dirt, water, rocks = boy heaven.
Not sure what this face is for. I think he's trying to copy one of the twins.
Miles hanging out with the big boys.
Yum, just what I love to see - suspicious looking dirt around the mouth. How much do you think he ate?
Miles and me wet after wading through the water.
This was taken at Cannon Beach.
I love this picture of Miles doing the "superman" swing. He loves swinging and would spend all day on them if we'd let him.
This is just inside Ecola State Park before we headed to Indian Beach.
Miles learned a lot of "boy" things from the twins during the week. I know he's definitely growling more now.

Family Photos

Last weekend we finally had family photos taken again -
mostly to celebrate Luke having his braces removed.
(Check out that fabulous smile!)
So what do we do now?!?
These photos will be outdated next month
with our new addition -
I'm not complaining though :)
One month and counting till the arrival of
our baby girl!

Chosen!

You're not going to believe it because even we're still in shock...
Another amazing woman has decided
to put her trust in us - that's right!
We're having a baby!
It could not have happened on a more perfect day.
We got the call yesterday, on our anniversary,
that we will be having a baby girl due July 11th!
Talk about the best gift ever...
We are more than excited, we are ecstatic!
Thank you to everyone for your prayers and networking.
Miles is already walking around the house
saying "little sister."
He's going to be the best big brother.
We're having a baby!
