Sunday drive

Sunday afternoons can be  a bit rough for Luke and me.  The kids are totally wired and we parents are usually needing some serious quiet.

It’s nice that it’s getting easier to take the kids out and about. It’s easier if Luke comes anyway. I thought Sunday afternoon would be more enjoyable for all of us if we took a drive looking for cooler weather and a picnic dinner.

Suckers and sunglasses helped pass the time in the car.

We didn’t find much cooler temps, but we did make it to some water.

We didn’t leave town until 4p.m. Sorry for the light then dark photos. I couldn’t decide whether to use my flash or not.

This is Roosevelt Lake.

Lars was very impressed with his own throwing.

Miles really wanted to throw the big rocks, but he also didn’t want to risk finding a spider underneath. The spiders were everywhere. Can’t say that I blame him.

I finally got a pedicure, so I had to throw this photo in too.

Lars wouldn’t hold my hand, but he was happy to hold hands with shorts-less Masie.

This is “Rocko.” He’s Masie’s friend and part of the family. She’s never going to let him go.

Well, Rocko was suddenly forgotten when Masie found her friend the beetle.

Miles and Masie planned to jump in. Then boats started coming back to shore, so we didn’t let them enter the water.

The kids had fun running instead.

I’m not sure if the drive made our Sunday any easier, but it definitely made for a memorable evening.

What a great idea! The photos look so peaceful, I'm sure your kids loved being out side. We are enjoying PA's gorgeous fall weather currently, and are dreading the winter months. Enjoy your winter, I know my little brother does. He migrates with the geese. He lives in AZ for the winter and where ever he wants for the summer ( it has been the north, but lately it was Tx).
