Preschooler

We sent Masie off on her first day of preschool.DSC_1620

She’s attending Little Sparks preschool with Mrs. Gale on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. The same teacher Miles had last year. I am super excited for Masie to try out the classroom environment. She’s still a little young and a lot wild, but we know she’s smart enough. Hopefully she’ll thrive with the structure and enjoy learning and socializing.

Miles was not happy to be sending off his little sister to school. His school doesn’t start till this coming Monday. Watch Lars in the next several photos. He totally wants in on the kissing action Masie is spreading around. He loves his kisses.

Masie hugging her big bro and then she even gave my leg a squeeze.

Lyla looking a little stunned at the thought of Masie leaving. Lyla was on edge all morning after Masie left. It’s probably the biggest adjustment for her not having her big sis around. She stuck extremely close to me and asked every few minutes, “Where Masie go?” I’ll have Lyla alone for one hour in the a.m. once Miles starts school since Lars is still taking a morning nap.

First thing Masie found in the classroom were the scissors. Any bets on whether she cut her hair the first day??

Splashing with cousins

We had one last hurrah with Nathan’s family before school starts this week!

Miles looks like an Olympian already. The question will be what country he’ll swim for???

See, I do get in the water with the kids. I just prefer not to have my picture taken while wearing a swimsuit.

I love how the kids call these their “boards.”

Ashlynn having a dunk. I like to stand with my shoulders under the falls and get a massage from the pressure of the water.

Masie is getting some loving from Aunt Cindy.

Two hours in and out of the water, and Lars was not going to let go of his watermelon rind.

Enjoying our summer.

Masie didn’t want Miles putting his feet up. This is her saying, “I can’t do it.”

Miles is hysterically laughing right now as I post the pictures of the booties jumping into the water.

Edible

What’s cuter than a baby in boat shoes wearing a boat shirt?

We could just eat him up!

And he n.e.v.e.r gets into mischief… right.

I find it hard to believe this little guy is getting so big. We’ve had babies join our family for the last 3 years in the months of June or July. It’s an adjustment to have our baby growing up and not have another addition on the way. Just thinking… not sure how I feel about it. I’m starting to breathe a little again I guess as we’ve moved out of bottles, formula, and baby food. We have 1.5 still in diapers, and 2 of our 4 can buckle themselves in the car. Sounds like something so minor, but it’s a huge help to have the kids learn a little independence.  I’ll be sending our oldest off to kindergarten this week and our 2nd will be attending preschool 2 times a week. Babyhood is passing by quick. I’m enjoying it though.
