Special Visitor

We had a very special visitor this past weekend.

We have open adoptions with all of our children’s birth families. Each with its own level of contact and communication.

I don’t often blog about their birth families because they are so special and so private in their own way. I want my children to talk about their biological families when they want to and share the details when they’re comfortable.

But I was given the ok to share some very special photos. We got to meet Lyla’s biological maternal grandma. This was her first time meeting Lyla. We had a fabulous time with her. We love her attention and love and advice.

How great is open adoption?? My children have so many people in their lives that love them and want the best for them.

Don’t they look alike? Lyla gets her Italian heritage from her biological grandma.

Lyla’s grandma was so sweet to go to the zoo with us. More helping hands are always welcome!

Sunday evening we had Lyla’s grandma and boyfriend over for dinner along with my family. I was a little nervous since my family is so ((LOUD)), but everyone got along great.

How wonderful, I love that you blogged about it to show how natural and enjoyable it can be to involve birth families in your life!
