Another First

Today was Miles's first day of preschool.
You'd think I was sending him off the college the way I was freaking out about it.
I am in love with this little guy
and missed him all morning wondering how he could survive without me. We are fortunate to have a great school not even a mile from our house, so we've made a goal to walk there on the Tuesday and Thursday mornings he'll be attending. Today I spent an hour with him in his class. The teachers were so friendly and welcoming while all the students were excited to meet their new classmate. Miles fit right it during snack time when one boy started calling out
"EXCUSE ME! BLAH!"
and opening his mouth wide. Miles joined right in,
so I decided it was time for me to go.
No tears, just
"Bye Mom! See ya!"
I'm so glad he stayed without a fight.
I really hope he enjoys himself.
It's been a hard decision for me whether to take him or not... I've just decided he can really use the socialization and I could use a little more time to get my work done.
Hoping it's a win-win for both of us!
The one thing he was upset about was not being able to
"ride the school bus"
to school :)

yay! I started Jak at 2 days a week and then moved to 3 and was quickly to 5 days a week for the start of the school year (August 2008). He wasn't even 4 then! It's great to find good schools and good teachers. I am VERY grateful for the school that I found - so I know how you feel. :) Jaxon runs in every morning SO excited - has never once had a bad day... so it sounds like it will all be great for you and Miles!

Isn't it so hard to let them go even for a few hours. Kellon still isn't in a formal preschool. We have a "Mommys'Preschool" with seven moms that trade off taking turns every week. We only do two hours on Thursday, and my turn is tomorrow. Luckily Valentine's Day is this weekend--a built in lesson plan. It is so good to catchup on your family. You guys are so beautiful together! I've been contemplating bangs--what do you think so far?

Hi Evee! I'm sure you're saving a lot more $ than I am doing the mommy preschool. It's a great idea! I love my bangs though I definitely had to learn the rules of fixing them and what not to do with them. I like that they give my hair more depth. I really was not even thinking about them, but my friend Lara said I needed them :) I can still go two days w/o washing my hair and can wear a pony-tail which are musts. Is that terrible? :) I think you'd look great with bangs to frame you pretty face!

Cori, you are so right! Masie really seems to miss Miles, but it helps that she takes a morning nap and that's when I get stuff done. Glad to know Camden loves his. How often does he go? Miles is only Tues & Thurs mornings.

Chellie, I'm so glad to know Jak has done so well in his school. I'm already feeling quilty about not having him home with me. He seems to be enjoying it thus far tho :)

Ahh, it's a bittersweet time when the first one starts school. I felt like crying when Tarryn started preschool and I felt like standing outside at the window watching the whole time to make sure she was okay. By #4 it's just a happy thing! I'm glad you get a couple of hours to breathe and do a little something for yourself. It will help you be a better mommy. :)
