A Day of Play

The park near our house sponsored a "day of play" for the kids. We decided to see if there were any events Miles would enjoy.
The weather was fantastic!
Clinging for life while Dad laughs.

Turtles in a half shell . . .

Ok, the story of the balloon . . . Bunches of balloons caught Miles' eye as soon as we neared the picnic area. First he was scared of the policeman that was handing them out, then another kid's balloon popped right in Miles' face, and then the string got caught around his ear while Luke was trying to tie it to his shorts. So, knowing Miles would want the balloon again once we got home, I tied it to my purse and lugged it around the park for him :)
This is Miles checking out the stamp he got on his hand from one of the booths. He continued to watch the stamp for the next 10 minutes and for the rest of the day kept pointing it out to us.

Love it!

Yeah! A real firetruck. Miles is so into trucks, tractors, diggers . . . He was so excited to be next to the real thing.

If you can't tell, he's wailing and he kept wailing, and wailing, and wailing :)

A Day in the Life of Miles

Naptime

I really wasn't shopping for too long . . . My poor baby. I had to snag that toy to use as a pillow and ended up paying for it to let him sleep for another 2 minutes out to the parking lot. It's so amazing to me that he fell asleep this early in the morning and in the noisy store b/c he's such a light sleeper.

Should have posted these in September . . .

Ok . . . so I'm just figuring out how this blog thing works. I just learned that a blog is like a journal and I can't go back and insert but can only add on to the end. With that said, these are some picts taken before Miles's haircut but I just had to share them :)

This was his great hairdo after waking from his nap. Of course the first thing he's worried about when he wakes is getting back outside.

Luke and Miles were having a Sunday afternoon nap up until Miles noticed the camera. He has been more cuddly than usual these last couple of weeks. He comes running up to us and gives us big, tight hugs. We love it!

Miles just turned 18 months . . . so it's nursery time! This is on the way to church and I just had to document his first day :) He's completely psyched, but hiding it well.
Ah, I'm a real homemaker now as you can see my flower garden. It's been two weeks now and they're still alive - yes, believe it :)

Haircut

He's got a funny look on his face, but what do you think of his hair? I just chopped off his gorgeous, golden locks and he looks dashing, doesn't he :) Yes, that's a bruise in the middle of his forehead . . . We had friends over for dinner on Sunday, and while we were playing outside with the kiddies, Miles bonked his head on the water spigot. So now he looks like he's trying to grow a horn or something :)
I wish I'd had the video camera last night when Luke and I took him for a walk. He was barking and howling at every dog we went past. It took us 5 minutes to get him moving past one little white poodle he kept mimicking by jumping and yapping. Love it!

SEATTLE TRIP

A kiss for Mom on Alki Avenue.

He's right behind you!

Quack! Miles had a hard time understanding why Dad couldn't catch him a duck while walking around Green Lake. Gorgeous!

Forresting: Miles collected ALL of the pine cones for Dad.

Jellies!
